As the result of a fall my face was badly crushed, a tooth...
As the result of a fall my face was badly crushed, a tooth broken, and I was quite unconscious when picked up. On coming to consciousness I said, "I will be all right in just a minute." I declared the truth silently, and soon was able to walk. After having washed away the gravel, and taken a drink of water, I was able, with slight assistance, to climb the stairs to my room, and was left alone.
I managed to get ready for a night's rest, and when the wish for a practitioner came, I realized that Truth was with me. I rested content, thought of our beautiful hymns and Lessons, and about one o'clock went to sleep. I awakened to find a lovely Sunday morning sun shining in my window. I wanted to go to church, but thought I could not. I could not even use my right hand to reach for a glass of water, but I declared the truth, and did. Little by little I got ready for the five-mile ride to church. I did not look in the mirror until after I got my hat on, and then the sight of my swollen face nearly frightened me out of going, but I started early and while on the car kept repeating the scientific statement of being. (Science and Health, p. 468.) By the time the Lesson-Sermon was over all pain had gone. In two weeks my face was healed without visible scar, the tooth was firm and well without soreness. The swelling was gone the next day, when I took a walk of two and one half miles without unusual fatigue. I could tell many incidents of healing that have come to me and mine within the last two years, while I have attended the dear Mother Church. With a loving word of gratitude to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, I am glad to give this little testimony to the power of Truth.
