It is over a year since I put my trust in God and in...
It is over a year since I put my trust in God and in Christian Science, and I am glad to say it has been the happiest year of my life. I am now twenty-seven years old, and the most of my life has been a disagreeable experience to me. I had many habits which were growing upon me, and I thought there would be no enjoyment in the world without them. I was a constant tobacco user from ten years of age, and from sixteen years old I used all kinds of strong drink quite frequently, and also profane language. From twenty-three I was more or less a gambler, a habit which was growing worse, for I was traveling from the light into darkness. I felt that I was a complete wreck, and that there was no remedy for me. I felt as if I were all alone in this world, but now I know that where I am, God is also. I concluded to try Christian Science as my only remedy. To-day I can say, through the help of God, and the kind words of a Christian Scientist, I have been led into the light. I have lost all desire for my old habits and many of my aches and pains have also disappeared. I was cured in forty-eight hours of a very severe attack of bloodpoisoning caused by the cut of a rusty knife, also of constipation in a very short time. I am growing stronger in the love of God, and in gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for having brought us "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."—C. E. Halverstadt, Cozad, Neb.
