Taking the Time

Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.... If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me: but verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer.—Psalms.

Thus sang the ancient Psalmist, and through the study of Christian Science I have come to realize how much has been done for my soul,—my consciousness,—and this is proved in a new sense of all that comes up in daily experience. When I first became interested in this Science, I was teaching, and it seemed impossible to apply its rules always, as occasion arose in the schoolroom, for, as I argued to my practitioner, were not my thoughts already more than occupied with the fifty children before me demanding every moment of my attention? "I cannot take the time," I said. "But," she answered, "you take time to think the wrong thought."
