About four years ago, a very dear friend, who had been healed of a so-called incurable disease, advised me to read Science and Health, and said that it would enable me to lay aside the glasses which a specialist had declared I could never go without, as I had a very bad case of astigmatism. Before I had finished the reading of the book, I was healed. Two years ago I was thrown from a carriage onto a spiked iron fence, having my nose literally cut to pieces, also a bad cut on the forehead. A physician was summoned, who took several stitches, and at my request my husband telegraphed for Christian Science treatment. In four days I sent for the physician to remove the stitches, and he expressed great surprise at the quick and perfect healing. A piece of bone or cartilage protruded on the left side of the nose, which interfered with my sight; but in three weeks, through the faithful work of the practitioner, it disappeared. I also suffered from some interna injury, but that too was destroyed, and I was made whole. Since then God has been our only refuge, and we never seek Him in vain. I rejoice that one was found pure enough to give this pearl of great price to a suffering world.
Mrs. Julia P. Robins, Cleburne, Tex.
I was healed four years ago through Christian Science, and I can no longer withhold an expression of my deep sense of gratitude for "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and the love I feel for its author, Mrs. Eddy. From a child I was a member of an orthodox church, but never till I began the study of the Bible as explained by Science and Health did I understand or appreciate its teachings, which through this study have enabled me to overcome trials and temptations and to solve the problems of life as they come to me. I had had nine physicians in as many years, and changes of climate, only to grow worse year by year. Christian Science healed me of chronic stomach trouble, excruciating pain from eating even simple and carefully prepared food, chronic constipation, ulceration of the bowels and intestines, neuralgia from which I suffered agony and for which our last physician told my husband there was no medicine nor treatment that could give relief. I also had astigmatism, for which I had worn glasses about twelve years, and many minor ailments. I am grateful to God for my healing, thankful for the Lesson-Sermons, the Sentinel, and the Journal, and for all that Christian Science has done for me.
