Three years ago a trial came to me which was the occasion for proving God's omnipotence. It was a second stroke of paralysis, so severe that a trained nurse said I could not live twenty minutes unless brandy was given at once, and she gave me three doses. That was the only time material remedies were used. A Christian Science practitioner was asked to help me, and her prayer was answered. Many times that day it seemed as if I should pass on, but Truth was victorious. Six days later there came a crisis when Christian Science alone conquered. Every symptom that usually accompanies this disease was present, but all were overcome by the operation of divine law. The trained nurse who cared for me said I would never ride my bicycle again, but early the next spring I rode my wheel, and continue to use it. At times my progress seemed slow, but I learned that wrong thinking is the only hindrance to our progress, and I am more thankful to-day for cleared views of God and my relation to Him than for any physical benefit. I take long walks, and my healthy color has called forth comment many times.
I cannot better express my deep, abiding love for our Leader than in trying to live nearer to Christ.
Miss Emma L. Pease, Grand Rapids, Mich.
