I was taken ill in January, 1904, and in five weeks was unable to leave my bed. I had a constant hemorrhage, and became so weak that I could not turn myself in bed, and could only speak with great difficulty. The physician was calling two and three times a day, but I grew steadily worse. Finally a consultation of physicians was held, and they decided there was a growth, either a cancer or a tumor, and advised that I be taken to a hospital for an operation; but in the mean time blood-poisoning developed. I grew worse so rapidly that all thought of an operation was abandoned. I could not even have survived the trip to the hospital.
At this point I decided to have Christian Science treatment, and a practitioner was called. Treatment was begun June 17, about five months from the time I was first taken ill. After receiving one treatment I had such a clear sense of God's power and presence that I asked for my clothing, arose and dressed myself. Every one who knew of the case thought I was dying, but in three days I was able to attend to light duties. During the second week's treatment the hemorrhage stopped and the growth disappeared. In three weeks I had fully regained my strength, and was doing all my own work. I wish also to speak of the healing of my baby. He had been troubled for a long time with a distressing scalp disease, which the physicians had been unable even to relieve. As soon as I began to improve, I placed him under treatment, and through the power of Truth he was made entirely free from this ailment.
I wish to express my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy, who has revealed to this age the healing truth, and made possible such demonstrations as this experience of mine.
