I feel it a duty and pleasure to give my testimony to the benefits derived from Christian Science. I had had poor health for several years, doctored most of the time, tried dieting, bathing, etc., and was at a noted sanitarium nearly two months. Only those who have had similar experiences can imagine my suffering, both physical and mental. I was reduced almost to a skeleton,—weighing but one hundred pounds, my former weight being about one hundred and forty pounds. Last July a friend advised me to try Christian Science, and loaned me her book, Science and Health. I at once became interested in the reading, and sent to a practitioner for an absent treatment. I began to improve, and during the first three weeks gained fifteen pounds, and had a corresponding mental improvement,—I seemed like a new creature. After that I improved more slowly, but in seven months the change was wonderful. In the mean time I kept on reading Science and Health, and other Christian Science literature but took no more treatments. I am now stronger and healthier than ever before, and the spiritual awakening I have had through Christian Science I consider worth more than the physical improvement, which is very great. To those who are prejudiced against what they believe Christian Science to be, I would say that I was, also, before I investigated it; but I have learned it is best to find out what a thing is before we condemn it lest we reject our best friend. I feel a deep sense of gratitude to God, and to Mrs. Eddy, and I love the noble Cause which is lifting mankind from sickness and suffering to health and holiness.
