Christian Science does not tell people to heal themselves

Waterbury (Conn.) American

Christian Science does not tell people to heal themselves. It heals them, and then equips them with an understanding which enables them thereafter to help themselves. Is not this what Jesus did when he healed the sick and sent them away with the warning, "Sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee"? The most efficient sympathy, I take it, is not the sentimental type, which does nobody any good, but the healthy, sensible sympathy which separates a man from the circumstances needing sympathy; in other words, the sympathy which heals.
