When the Christian Scientists of North Carolina appeared a year ago before a joint meeting of the medical boards of the House and Senate of our legislature, for the purpose of discussing a bill to prohibit the practice of Christian Science in our state, one eminent physician stated that he knew it to be impossible for Christian Science to cure certain diseases which he mentioned. We were all filled with joy when we quickly ascertained that every one of these diseases had been destroyed either for or by the Christian Scientists present, even though we were only twenty-four in number, but God is never without a witness.

In the seven years since I first became interested in Christian Science through a very thorough and quick healing of lifelong ills. I have had abundant and blessed proof of the unchanging and omnipotent love of God as unfolded to us in Christian Science, and I can say in grateful humility, that I do most tenderly love and revere our beloved Leader, the one pure, unswerving, and consecrated life, through which this inspired revelation of Truth has come to our age, to lift the burdens from the heavy laden, to heal the sick, to quicken the spiritually dead, and to point the way to the source of all good—God, infinite divine Love.
