I have had the help and protection of Christian Science...
I have had the help and protection of Christian Science for seventeen years. Neither the services of a physician nor medicine of any kind has been used in our family in that time where both were very frequent visitors in the years previous. It is about ten years since I became interested to look into Christian Science for myself, and it is stating the case mildly to say that I have been repaid a thousandfold for the time and thought I have given to it. Without giving way to self-condemnation I realize that if I had been more faithful in the application of this truth and used it more constantly, that the results would have been greater in proportion. I have been freed from many small physical annoyances, such as headaches, colds, fatigue, etc., and have grown generally more rugged under its influence. Even greater has been its value in a business way where it has increased my confidence in my rightful ability to perform the work put before me. It has largely destroyed a strong disposition to worry and a seemingly strong tendency toward spells of "the blues."
I thank Christian Science directly for my increasing prosperity as well as general happiness, and recommend it to any who seem to be lacking in either or both of these, as well as those in need of physical healing. I feel personally grateful to Mrs. Eddy for her faithful work in giving this great truth to the world, and to all the faithful workers who have helped to promote the growth of our Cause.—M. G. Truman, Chicago, Ill.
About seven years ago my wife had a friend to visit us whom I had only met once, and that when she was about twelve years old. I had been in business prior to her coming, but I had fallen into the habit of drinking and had lost all, and it appeared that drink had gotten control of me; but while our friend was visiting us I had tried not to let her see me while I was intoxicated.
