The Christian Basis of Unity

The Christian Union

"To-day the loving, laboring, praying ministers of the gospel are crying, "Back to primitive Christianity, back to Christ for Unity." This unity is possible, but it must be in the way of his appointing; that way is straight and narrow, but it is plain and simple when understood. Jesus said, "I am the way." He proved himself to be the way by "healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people." He said, "The works that I do, shall he do also."

Our union with God and each other, our atonement, must be wrought out through faith in His word by doing the works which he did, thus keeping his commandments and proving our faith by our works.

Let Christendom demand that they be taught how Jesus and his disciples healed the sick, and let the shepherds in Israel go to God in humble prayer, laying all their theology and beliefs at the feet of Christ, Truth, that they may be taught of God, how to obey the commands of the Master, perpetuating the kingdom of heaven on earth, by doing the works which he did.
