In the spring of 1897 a friend asked me to try Christian Science, and my response was, "Christian Science cannot help me."
In the winter of 1898 I was in a home where a lady had a shock. A doctor was called and came for a few days. He said nothing could help her, that she could live only a few days, and might pass away in a few hours. He could do nothing for her. A Christian Scientist who lived near was called in and came each day for a week. At the end of the week the lady was perfectly healed, her face and limbs being in their normal condition.
As I saw this lady growing better each and heard the Christian Scientist read, I thought perhaps I could be helped. I had been sick for nearly eight years with stomach trouble, and catarth of the head. I had tried all sorts of remedies and had the best doctors in the city, and could find relief for only a short time. The doctors did not think I would ever be well again, and a specialist said I would never be healed of the catarrh.
