While Christian Science maintains the truth of Jesus'...
The Oregonian
While Christian Science maintains the truth of Jesus' statement, "If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death," and of its Pauline correlative, "The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death," it does not maintain that, according to human experience, there is no death. Christian Scientists claim no authority or ability in advance of other Christians in the keeping of those Gospel requirements which are incumbent upon every professed follower; but they have, in a measure, proven that resistance to the discords, worries, and distresses which ultimately lead toward death, and the dwelling in confidence on the promises of divine protection and eternal spiritual life, gives greater peace and health to-day, and less fear of and inclination toward this last enemy.
