It was the hunger and thirst for righteousness, that led me to Christian Science in 1891. I was searching the Scriptures trying to understand why the healing could not be done now as in Jesus' time, when I heard that a man in Kansas did wonderful healing by faith. I wrote to him and addressed my letter to "The Faith Healer," as I did not know his name. He replied, saying he was not a faith healer but a Christian Scientist. He sent me a Journal and some tracts. I read them many times, for I had at last found that for which I had long searched.
We sent for Science and Health, and O what a light came with it. I felt that God had sent it to us, and I never doubted a single statement made in this book.
We are many miles from any Christian Scientist, so have never attended the services and have not taken class instruction, but we have not used any medicine since the book came, and we have a large family.
