It is about fifteen years since I first heard of Christian Science through the healing of a friend who had spinal trouble, but I did not become interested in it until about four years ago. At that time I was suffering with a gathering in my ear and had been under medical treatment for several weeks with very little relief, though the specialist who treated me said he had done all he could for me.
Christian Science treatment had been suggested by a friend several times during my illness, but I had been reading so-called mental science for several years, and could not believe that Christian Science could heal where this other had failed to keep me from sickness. Finally, in desperation and as a last resort, I turned to Christian Science for help and was healed in one treatment.
It was some time after I commenced reading Science and Health before I seemed to get a ray of light from it, but since that first ray of light dawned upon me I have never had a doubt as to the truth of its teaching, and I can now see why Christian Science heals where other mental methods do not, in that it is founded upon the Bible and brings to light the teachings of Jesus in their entirety.
