Two and a half years ago, Christian Science found me...
Two and a half years ago, Christian Science found me in a discordant condition of mind and body. I commenced reading Science and Health, and it slowly dawned upon me that nobody, and no circumstance was to blame for those conditions which seemed so painful to me. I realized that there was some stiff work before me, that there must be a great overcoming in order to gain my true inheritance, the heavenly kingdom; also I heeded the warning of our Leader not to murmur at the demands of Truth.
At times the way seemed rugged, clouds would seem to obscure the light, and my feet would well-nigh slip, but every temptation to discouragement would be dispelled by some message from our text-book or other Christian Science literature. Also I remembered how great a cloud of witnesses we have, and so with renewed courage the battle against self was and will be continued until that day when "there will be no more going out."
I cannot attempt to tell what Christian Science has done for me, I can only say it has healed me mentally, morally, and physically, and my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy can best be expressed by a life of obedience to Him whom to know is life eternal. "We shall obey and adore, in proportion as we apprehend the divine nature, and love Him understandingly" (Science and Health, p. 140).
