In looking back over some of my past experiences in Christian Science, one demonstration in particular stands out with extreme vividness.
Through Christian Science treatment I had been wonderfully healed, and through this restoration of health I was enabled to enter again the arena of life, not as of old, with the carnal weapons of warfare, but with the sword of the Spirit. Through the study of Science and Health I discerned that dishonesty, injustice, and limitation were just as unreal as sickness, sin, and death; and that divine Principle heals all. I wished to save others from the agony and suffering which I had endured in the days in which I thought them real, and in order to do this I must be right myself.
I began with the determination first, to owe no man anything; second, never to hold back the laborers' wages over night; third, to give full compensation, pressed down and running over. I had just started out in the Field as a practitioner, and my efforts in this direction were indeed crowned with success. The work increased to such an extent that I thought it necessary to come out from my occupation. To this my mother objected. She said it was giving up a certainty for an uncertainty; but I took the step and have never regretted it.
