The Mother Church Building Fund

Impersonal Testimonies from the Churches.

A special business meeting was called to take action on a further contribution to the Mother Church Building Fund. The message "Now and Then" from our Leader came in the Sentinel on the day of the meeting, and it was an inspiration, awakening all to see that this "now" was their opportunity. "No risk is so stupendous as to neglect opportunities which God giveth" (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 213).

The object of our coming together having been stated, a member immediately proposed that this church now pledge to the Building Fund such an amount as will make the total subscription $10,000 or more, and that it be paid in on or before June 1, 1904. This motion was quickly seconded. Then came the reading of the article "Now and Then," followed by a lively testimonial meeting. Member after member spoke of the grand and good benefits received from Christian Science, and that the giving of this amount was a small thing compared with the prosperity of our church which would surely follow the prosperity of the Cause, due to the divine impulse given it by the building of such a proposed addition to the Mother Church. More than half of the forty members present spoke. Many asked for the privilege of speaking a second, a third, and a fourth time. This meeting was a regular Pentecostal feast, it was such an expression of praise and gratitude to God for His message of peace and health to the world which has come through Christian Science.
