The Lectures

The lecture on Christian Science given under the auspices of the Momence Christian Science Society by Edward A. Kimball, C.S.D., Friday evening, June 19, was very gratifying to the society. The audience, mostly of non-Scientists, was very attentive throughout the lecture. Mr. Kimball was introduced by James Van Inwagen, Jr., in the following words:—

Fellow-Citizens, Ladies and Gentlemen:—I suppose I was selected to introduce to you the lecturer of this evening for the reason that I have known Mr. Kimball longer than any one in Momence. While I was not attracted to Christian Science through the healing of sickness, but because it appealed to common sense, I have since known of its healing my father of deafness and I was myself healed by a single treatment of a severe illness.

The lecture this evening is given you by the Christian Science Society of this city, because they feel that they have something good that others have not, and as Christian Science teaches us to love our fellow-men, it becomes our duty to share this good with you. I therefore take great pleasure in introducing to you the lecturer of the evening. Mr. Edward A. Kimball.—The Momence Press-Reporter.
