Appreciation

The Boston Post

While the growth of the organization which bears the name of Christian Science has been matter of common observation hereabouts, very few were prepared for such a demonstration of its continental and even its world-wide extent as this gathering has given. It has been a revelation to the general public; and, moreover, it has been a very pleasant one. These Christian Scientists are people whom we are very glad to have with us. Never was there a convention held in Boston in which the participants were more thoroughly representative of the sturdy, happy, energetic American character. In the best sense of those much-abused words this was a gathering of gentlemen and ladies,—not the factitious gentility of wealth, although they are manifestly well-to-do, but of courtesy, intelligence, and humanity. They are welcome to Boston whenever they may come here.—The Boston Post.
