Error has withheld me from making a just acknowledgment...

Error has withheld me from making a just acknowledgment of the daily benefits of Christian Science, extending over a long period of years.

Certainly, we can never express sufficient gratitude to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, whose consistent unselfishness made it possible for her to catch the light of Truth and Love, and so reflect it that all may receive its blessing in proportion to their willingness to part with materiality. Truly, one life of consistent spirituality in a material age is a miracle in itself.

Like all Christian Scientists, I now wonder how I ever lived without our chart and compass, our "Key to the Scriptures;" and indeed, it was a very poor attempt at living, mostly a combination of mental misery and physical discomfort. Whenever one is inclined to be discouraged with slow progress and seeming obstacles to growth, he need only compare the two conditions of life, with and without the understanding of Christian Science, to gain meekness and humility of thought before God, and a wholesome sense of shame at the pretensions of a selfhood in matter.—Kate K. Blatterman, Atlanta, Ga.
