The following is a demonstration of Christian Science healing which I feel should be made known to the Field.

Heretofore I have been prevented from giving it by the thought that people had such a fear of small-pox that it was not "loving-kindness" to send out a pen picture of this dreaded disease, but without some details it would not be possible to give Christian Science the honor that is its due. Desiring to make a grateful acknowledgment of what Truth did for me, I will state the main facts.

The case was an unusually severe one, every ordinary symptom being aggravated. There was much fear to be met in my family, also some opposition to Christian Science treatment; but every manifestation of error was promptly overcome by the statements of Truth as used by the practitioner who had charge of the case. The treatment was absent, because the environments were such as made this necessary.

When I was removed from home and friends to the quarantine, I was almost overcome by fear. My practitioner's message to me at that dark hour, was that I could not go anywhere away from God, and I found this true in the loving, kindly spirit manifested toward me by physicians, nurses, and patients. The medical opinion was held that my face would be disfigured, and that from eight to eighteen months must pass before the discoloration would disappear. Twelve months have now passed and only a keen observer can see the few marks that remain. I am a living witness to the power of Truth as demonstrated by Christian Science healing, and am truly grateful to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, through whom the truth has been made available for human need.
