The New Manual

No doubt every member of the Mother Church felt deeply gratified with the contents of the recent edition of the Manual, and silently recognizes the value of every new measure therein given.

If, as our Leader says, "this Manual will increase the spirituality of him who obeys it" (Sentinel, p. 24, Vol. VI.), the importance of the gift will not be overlooked by him who is earnestly seeking the Way of Life.

I have been greatly quickened and strengthened by the perusal of this book. I have learned in Christian Science to love obedience, because this Science has taught me that obedience means willingness to love, and that in the proportion that I am willing to love, do I find obedience a joyful action, laden with blessing.

Words do not in any way tell my appreciation for the labor of our beloved Leader; this is a sweet, secret hidden in my heart but known to divine Love. But because of it, I feel impelled to make this acknowledgment.
