Rev. Donald D. MacLaurin writes in The Watchman on "Prayer and its Answer:"—

"if you want health, wealth, joy, satisfacetion, advancement, honor—prayer and ask, and ye shall have them. Why sit ye here then in poverty? No matter how bad you are, no matter how far from the right lines of life you live, you have only to pray and ask, on the authority of Jesus, and you will have what you want.

"There is not a word of truth in all that; not a word—and yet people who read the Scriptures superficially, and study such a passage as this superficially, reach precisely such a conclusion, and because the answer is not forthcoming, throw the whole thing overboard, and say there is nothing in it at all.
