Another Expression of Gratitude

It is with loving thankfulness that I also would join "the ever-increasing throng of grateful ones" and express my appreciation for the comfort and good cheer that have come to us through the many channels of divine Love, meeting our every need.

First of all I wish to express the sense of love and gratitude that went out to our dear Leader when I read the new paragraph lately added to the chapter "Footsteps of Truth" in Science and Health, page 255 where she says, "Imperfect mortals grasp the ultimate of spiritual perfection slowly. But to begin aright and continue the strife of demonstrating the great problem of Being, is doing much." I can never tell what hope and courage thouse words brought to me. This last revision is certainly wonderful in its purity and clearness.

I would make special mention of the article in the November, 1901, Journal entitled, "Learning Love," which was so full of help and encouragement. The ordinary sense of love is such a counterfeit of Love as revealed in Christian Science that at times the struggling heart is overwhelmed with the apparent impossibility of ever attaining to that Love which "is the fulfulling of all law," and I was impressed by the statement, "In loving God we find our sense of protection becomes greater than the sense of being attacked." This helped me to make a demonstration by which I proved this for myself a few days later.
