"Methinks, were they to contemplate the universal...
"Methinks, were they to contemplate the universal charge wherewith divine Love has entrusted us, in behalf of a suffering race, they would contribute oftener to the pages of this swift vehicle of Scientific thought; for it reaches a vast number of earnest readers, and seekers after Truth" (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 156). These words have touched me, and led me to wonder if I am as grateful to God as I should be, for what has been done for me.
Sixteen years ago, I was healed of hopeless invalidism through the realization of the right concept of God. The length of time that has elapsed since my healing, is proof that it was of God, and not due to any mesmeric influence; for Jesus saith, "Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up." My healing came through Mind; came as sweet peace from a God that is Love, and destroying such false qualities as resentment when we seem to be unjustly treated, and awakening that Christlike impulse which saith, "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do."
We feel that in Christian Science we have found the only Comforter. We have seemed to pass through some deep waters, but the words of Isaiah have been fulfilled. "When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee."
