Health Restored
Truly can I say with the Psalmist, "He hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God." So many blessings have come to me since my interest was first awakened to the beautiful Christ-Truth, Christian Science, that I feel it a privilege as well as a duty to make this grateful acknowledgment, and I hope that my experience will help and encourage others.
Nearly four years have passed since Truth found me a willing listener to its still, small voice, and led me from darkness into Light, into the knowledge of God as Love and as an ever-present help. I had known of Christian Science for a number of years through the healing of a friend from what was considered an incurable disease. Another friend had endeavored to interest me in that which had brought healing and peace to her, but I turned a deaf ear. Only after years had passed, when broken in health, weary and worn, bearing many burdens, feeling almost hopeless, did I accept the healing power of Truth and Love.
My physical healing seemed wonderful to me, and I am very grateful indeed to the dear healer through whose pure thought and clear understanding I was healed of a disease from which I had long suffered. I had been under the care of five physicians in several of the larger cities. I employed two Boston physicians, one of them for months giving me the most careful treatment. I underwent an operation which was a failure. When I went to my healer, I was suffering almost constant pain. Relief came gradually, then entire cessation from pain. The same healer's help enabled me to lay aside glasses, which I had worn for several years. My heart overflows with love and gratitude to the giver of all Good and to our beloved Mother, Mary Baker G. Eddy, whose wonderful revelation has brought freedom and peace to suffering humanity. I owe much to the Journal and Sentinel. They have been more help to me than words can express. That all may come into an understanding of this glorious Truth, is the great desire of my heart.—S. W. C., Brookline, Mass.
