"Free Indeed."

I imagine that our friends in Truth have but little conception of the extent of the work being done in this territory, as there is so little news being sent to our periodicals; but we are growing and radiating as best we can, and to one so young in the understanding of the teachings of Christian Science, our progress has seemed wonderful. For myself, I have been released from many forms of bondage and have begun to realize what it would mean to be "free indeed." The feeling is what I suspect the unjustly sentenced criminal feels, when the true culprit has been apprehended and he has been given his liberty.

During past years of suffering and anxiety, I have often rebelled, saying: "I never harmed any one; why should I be punished with these afflictions?" and I would pray earnestly to be released; but it seemed as if God were busy elsewhere and could not answer me. I know now that I prayed not believing that I would be heard.

My husband was the first to become interested in Christian Science, and was relieved of a severe eye trouble through reading Science and Health, and when he came home and insisted that I should read it too, I said I would, but took my time about commencing it. However, after making the effort, I fairly devoured the book and forgot entirely that I had begun to read for the physical help I might receive,
