Our Need Supplied in Christian Science
I have been a student of that wonderful book, Science and Health, for the last six years, and have seen the power of Truth over error in many ways both in my own family and for others. I have felt for a long time that I ought to give my experience for the benefit of humanity, even as I receive help and strength by reading the testimony of others. I did not come into Science through healing, but by spiritual growth.
Fifteen years ago this winter my thought was turned God-ward by a "John the Baptist" preacher. I saw myself as a sinner, and all good belonged to God, and I must look to Him for strength to live aright. I went on overcoming sin in self through the word of God, both written, and spoken, and obeyed. I read many books written by consecrated servants of God which awakened thought more and more, until both my husband, who had been a Christian for several years, and myself were fulfilling the law sufficiently to take God as our healer from sickness as well as from sin, and I was restored from a severe attack of grip, and also restored a neighbor.
From that time on, which was nine years ago this winter, I have not tasted medicine, but have always relied on God for healing. When Christian Science was brought to our notice it gave us a clearer understanding of the God of Love we had believed and obeyed and trusted so long. We needed the Spirit and the letter to make our experience complete, and it was found in Science and Health.
