A Wonderful Demonstration
Two years ago some boys were badly burned by an explosion of powder. Among those who were sent to the hospital was a boy who I was told was so terribly burned that it seemed impossible for him to recover, and that his suffering was fearful. As I listened a flood of pity welled up in my heart, and I silently invoked God's help for him. He was in the hospital for weeks, and then sent home, as they could do nothing more for him. While at home a physician attended him, and all the encouragement he could give, was, that if the boy could get strong enough they might perform an operation on his limbs, which were drawn up, and nearly all the flesh was burned off, so that he had no use of them. He also suffered from internal injuries caused by inhaling not air. Divine Love led his mother to come to me to see if Christian Science could help him.
I commenced to give him treatment at once, but was unable to visit him for nine days. Then I found that the help of crutches he had walked up town, and in a few weeks he could use his limbs freely, and all the great sores were healed up. He also had a deep cut across his nose, that was healed completely, and to-day he is a great, strong, well boy, demonstrating the wonderful power of divine Love to heal and save.
