Among the Churches
The Christian Scientists have opened their rooms in the Noble Building, and held their first services there last Sunday morning at 10.45. They have very pleasant quarters and have fitted up their rooms very neatly. The society has opened a free reading room at their place of worship, which is open every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday afternoon from two to four o'clock. Services will also be held at their rooms Wednesday evening at 7.45. Interested ones are invited to any of these services. Christian Science is one of the prominent topics of the day, there being nearly a million people who can testify that they have been permanently healed by following the teachings of this doctrine. This society has at the present time over five hundred congregations in this country, and is growing very rapidly. The members are composed of those from the highest as well as the lowest walks of life, and their claims are to do the most good they can toward elevating and lifting up humanity. They have over five thousand practitioners who are devoting themselves to the healing of the sick of mind and body. Standing upon such a platform, and with such beautiful objects in view, we would be the last one to throw a stone in their way. "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good."
