"The Lord spake to Manasseh, and to his people: but they would not hearken. . . . And when he was in affliction, he besought the Lord his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers, and prayed unto him: and he was intreated of him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manesseh knew that the Lord he was God" (II Chron. 33: 10, 12, 13).
I was like Manesseh. The Lord had tried to direct me many times, but I would not listen or hearken. When I was in affliction, I besought the Lord and humbled myself greatly, and I was brought into His kingdom.
I was under a doctor's care for what was described as a chronic nerve condition. Instead of improving, I was steadily growing worse. The doctor released me. She told my husband she could do no more for me and suggested that perhaps a psychiatrist could help me.
