After more than thirty years I wish to express my gratitude for a healing that took place in my family at the height of what was called the depression. My only employment at the time was that of free-lance radio actor. I had no regular part in any show but was called in at infrequent intervals and for varying periods of time. So the problems of supply and support seemed to be almost chronic.

During this period a daughter was born to my wife and me, and I was informed that the baby had deformed feet; that she had no bones in the lower part of her legs; that she would never be able to walk; that she would always have to wear heavy iron braces; and that there was nothing the medical profession could do for her.

We were students of Christian Science, and I called a practitioner. I shall never forget the calm, reassuring voice that came to me over the telephone. In effect, the practitioner told us to remember that the child is actually a spiritual idea and that we had not created the child. God had. God is the creator of all life, and He is capable of supporting and sustaining His own creation. The practitioner assured us that we could expect the child to walk when it was time for her to walk. In the meantime we should depend on God for our own sense of support.
