"Fairer than morning"

Anyone who has sat through the long hours of darkness cannot fail to be inspired by the rising of the sun in the morning. At first there is a barely perceptible light in the east, faint rosy streaks stretch across the sky, deepening and broadening until they merge into mauve and lavender against the soft blue background of a new day. The golden rays of sunshine fan out toward the receding darkness, and soon the daily miracle of morning lies before us.

But, inspiring though such a spectacle may be, it is not to be compared with the pure joy and holy inspiration which come with the recognition of our unity with God as His spiritual reflection. A beloved hymn reads,
