The inspiration and help I received from reading the testimonies printed in the Sentinel when I started the study of Christian Science about five years ago have prompted me to write and give thanks.

I had hurt my back and had been to several doctors, but gradually the pain grew worse. In desperation I went to an osteopath, who said that I had tilted a bone in my spine and that because the bone had been out of position for so long, no doubt other bones would slip out after he had corrected this one. This did happen, and I had a standing appointment once a fortnight to have the bones put back that had moved since the previous appointment. I became almost too frightened to move, even to sit down.

One day when I was visiting a friend she began telling me about Christian Science. I cannot remember much now of what she told me, apart from the fact that God is Love. I became so interested that the time flew by, and seeing how late it was, I simply ran home. I knew I had found the answer to my troubles; so I rang the osteopath, canceled all my appointments, and asked for Christian Science treatment. I did not find it easy. I had so many doubts and fears that the pain returned and hardly left me. It was at this time that I read all the testimonies I could, especially those that dealt with a similar problem. It meant so much to me to read how others had overcome obstacles to Truth.
