I am grateful for a healing of shingles on my face. The Christian Science practitioner whom I asked for help assured me that this so-called affliction could not separate me for one moment from God's harmony and all-embracing love. She called my attention to the following passage on page 495 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy: "When the illusion of sickness or sin tempts you, cling steadfastly to God and His idea. Allow nothing but His likeness to abide in your thought."

The condition lasted for several weeks, but during this entire time I was able to do all my work day by day. I did not have to remain in bed, and the tasks I had to perform for others were not light ones: there was a great amount of laundry and spring-cleaning to be taken care of.

Pain was always silenced through the realization of man's oneness, or unity, with God. During this time I relied solely on God through Christian Science treatment, and I had a complete healing.
