Man's Character
[Of Special Interest to Young Men and Women]
Exactly what is true character? How can we build on the solid basis of moral and spiritual values, which alone will make our lives valuable and useful?
Human experience hammers and molds character somewhat as a blacksmith fashions a horseshoe: with fire and many hard blows. It is believed that youth must make its mistakes and learn in the school of hard knocks. It is also believed that hard and unhappy experiences can make one bitter and disillusioned, thus warping his character.
Now, we learn in Christian Science that man's character is eternally established as God's reflection. Yet the human sense of character needs to be disciplined and molded to conform to the ideal.
