WORDS OF CURRENT INTEREST

[The words in this issue are related to the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly designated to be read in Christian Science churches on June 6, 1965.]

Be not dismayed; for I am thy
God (Isa. 41:10)

The Hebrew verb rendered "be dismayed" means literally "gaze," and so "look out (for help)"; hence "gaze about (in anxiety)." The margin of the Revised Version suggests, "Look not around thee"; and the Septuagint Version. "Wander not"; while Kent's rendering is, "Be not terrified."

To US THERE IS BUT ONE God, THE
Father, of whom are all
THINGS, AND WE IN HIM
(I Cor. 8:6)
