Testimony of Healing May 29, 1965 Issue

It is with a great sense of gratitude for one particular physical healing that I give this testimony. About eighteen months ago I awakened in the night with symptoms of what I think would have been called a heart attack. My husband called a practitioner for treatment for me, and it was given immediately. The next evening a Christian Science nurse came to our home and stayed with me for eight days.

Through the faithful work of these two dedicated Christian Scientists in their different capacities, I grew stronger each day. At the end of a week I was able to be out of bed and to talk to the practitioner by telephone. In three weeks' time I was well, and I attended church services twelve miles from home.

One thought which stood out to me like a beacon while the healing was progressing is in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." Mary Baker Eddy says (p. 487), "The understanding that Life is God. Spirit, lengthens our days by strengthening our trust in the deathless reality of Life, its almightiness and immortality."
