It is significant that in the Manual of The Mother Church Mrs. Eddy includes the By-Law headed "Testimonials" under Article VIII, "Guidance of Members." It is not only my duty but my privilege to testify, and I do so in recognition of our Leader's wise provision for this expression of thanks and praise and in sincere gratitude for the healing and guidance I have received from listening to and reading many testimonies by others.

My wife was brought up in Christian Science from childhood; and I can share her gratitude for this, since I witnessed many healings and much loving support during the growing-tip years of our family. Through her steadfast example, but also her total lack of insistence, I was led gently into Christian Science, the turning point coming when I attended my first lecture. This lecture opened my eyes to what Science really is, its stature and infinite potential; and to this day my heart overflows with gratitude for The Christian Science Board of Lectureship.

My job as a schoolmaster is a vigorous one—the more so since I took charge of a boardinghouse some years ago. Since then, a number of minor physical discords have been healed so effectively and promptly—some with the help of a practitioner and some by my own efforts— that not one moment of duty has been missed.
