With a grateful heart I should like to testify to the loving guidance of our Father-Mother God.

Once when our daughter was six years old, she cried bitterly, complaining that one of her ears was aching. I took her aside, and we talked of God's love for His little ones and of His ever-presence and power; but the child still kept crying, so much so that my mother, who is not a Christian Scientist, heard it from her room.

I had feared this moment, because I knew my mother would ask me to give her medicine. As I had anticipated, she did prescribe a material remedy and asked me to use it.
