In our study of Christian Science we learn in Science and Health (p. 242): "There is but one way to heaven, harmony, and Christ in divine Science shows us this way. It is to know no other reality—to have no other consciousness of life —than good, God and His reflection, and to rise superior to the so-called pain and pleasure of the senses."

Two years ago an experience involving painful restriction of the use of a leg was quickly overcome through my knowing the allness of God, good, and the consequent unreality of matter and of physical sense testimony. This experience occurred while I was engaged in a game of squash. I suffered an injury diagnosed by the club professional as a separated muscle. On the basis of many other cases he had seen, he went on to describe the expected bondage, including several days in bed, and said it would be weeks before I would be able to return to the squash court.

I immediately started to deny the appearance of incapacity and tried to remonstrate with him that I would be perfectly well and back on the court soon. But he would not listen to my request for a court reservation for the following Sunday.
