Important Points in Teaching
[The following column is submitted by the Sunday School Division of The Mother Church and is of importance to the Field.]
Sunday School teaching must always be based upon inspiration. Its aim is to give the pupils a working knowledge of Christian Science, showing them how to demonstrate divine Principle in their daily lives.
Article XX of the Manual of The Mother Church by Mary Baker Eddy gives the framework of the teaching in broad terms as follows:
"Teaching the Children. Sect. 2. The Sabbath School children shall be taught the Scriptures, and they shall be instructed according to their understanding or ability to grasp the simpler meanings of the divine Principle that they are taught."
