The beautiful quotation from...

The beautiful quotation from Mrs. Eddy's writings which reads (Science and Health, p. 494), "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need," was proved operative in my experience during the fall of 1958.

I was employed on a construction job located on a remote island off the coast of Alaska. The fuel supply for the island came by barge and constituted the only source of power and heat. The barge that was to replenish the island's supply for the winter struck a rock entering the harbor, rupturing the outer shell and several of the individual tanks, so that all the fuel oil was lost, leaving only a partial load of gasoline to be salvaged. The fuel situation became critical, and although another oil barge and a supply ship were standing offshore outside the harbor, the winds and waves prevented them from docking.

This impasse continued for more than a week. The weather in this area is characterized by constant, and at times, violent, changeable winds, and the prevailing wind was apt to change to a more violent variety at any time.
