Quickening Activity in Our Branches

As the result of devotion and prayer, branch churches and societies are finding many ways to increase their activities and usefulness. On page 39 of "No and Yes," our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, says, "Such prayer humiliates, purifies, and quickens activity, in the direction that is unerring."

A branch in a city of the Middle West of the United States writes:

The prospect of moving our Reading Room about a year and a half ago revealed the need of quickened spiritual activity throughout our church body in order to support such an important step. Accordingly, We have just completed a program whereby groups of members were invited each month to meet with the executive board of our church. These members were asked to do prayerful metaphysical work on subjects such as membership, lectures, testimony meetings, and Sunday School. A pioneering effort was made to lend copies of the textbook 'Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures' by Mrs. Eddy.
