RADIO PROGRAM No. 344 - Sharing in the Resurrection

On Easter Sunday a special program was produced for the purpose of explaining to those of other faiths the Christian Science understanding of the resurrection.

Speaker: The central message of Easter is the fact of resurrection. It is said that when the early Christians met they would greet each other with the salutation, "Christ is risen!" Their lives were illumined by the fact that Jesus had triumphed over death and in that act had revealed to them the infinite power of good to overcome all evil.

This was the gospel, or good news, which they took to a world plunged in misery and frustration. As Paul said of Jesus in his second Epistle to Timothy, he "hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel." In other words, he has shown us what life really is, not under the curse of mortality, but indestructible and eternal—the radiant expression of God's own being.
