INSPIRATION ESSENTIAL IN CHURCH AFFAIRS
In human organizations, a rigid adherence to set routines and formulas often spells stagnation and has unhappy results. Inspiration in the form of a continuing flow of new ideas, and consequent fresh forms of activity, is necessary to progress.
The Church of Christ, Scientist, is based on the understanding by its members of the true, spiritual nature of Church. "Church" is defined on page 583 of the Christian Science textbook as follows:
"The structure of Truth and Love; whatever rests upon and proceeds from divine Principle.
