A few years ago I was suffering from an enlarged abdomen which caused irregular bodily functions. There was also shortness of breath and impaired vision. All these were completely healed through Christian Science.

At one point while contending with the enlarged abdomen, I visited the physician who had attended in our home the delivery of our son, who was still a baby, to see if another birth might be expected. After giving me an examination and making tests, the doctor told me there was something there, but I was not pregnant. I decided against having X rays or further tests, and I turned entirely to God for help.

In the ensuing months of rich unfoldment I was strengthened sufficiently to care for our baby and daily tasks. I had the help of a Christian Science practitioner, whose work uncovered the temptation to enlarge upon evil or error. I looked upon the condition not as a material swelling to be removed, but as evidence of an accumulation of false, material beliefs to be overcome with right ideas.
