To try to express some of the joy...

To try to express some of the joy and gratitude that wells up in my heart for my having been introduced to Christian Science is the reason for this testimony. For some time I had been unsatisfied with my way of life, but I had not done much to change it. While in this state of mind, I received a telegram to come home at once, for my mother was not expected to live because of a serious heart condition.

I made arrangements to leave immediately. When I arrived in the city nearest to the small town in which my mother lived, I put in a long-distance call to my home in order to get news of my mother's condition. When the call came through, I was happily surprised to hear my mother's voice. I asked her what had happened, and she replied that she had been healed through Christian Science. I was skeptical about how the healing had come about, but I was more than thankful that she was at least better.

On my arrival I was told that the doctor had held out no hope of being able to heal the condition. When a friend recommended calling a Christian Science practitioner, my mother had agreed, and the result was an immediate healing. I did not understand how it could happen; but I thought if it suited her, it was fine with me, as long as she was well.
