The testimonies in our periodicals...
The testimonies in our periodicals have been so inspiring to me through the years that I wish to express my gratitude for them.
While working at a Christian Science nursing home as a housekeeper, I entered a dark room and picked up a bucket for scrubbing. This bucket contained lye, which had been used to open a sewer. Unaware of this fact, I did not rinse the bucket, but put in soap and water immediately. Before I was through scrubbing, my hands stung and were red, but I did not think anything about that.
Just as I was about to finish, someone saw me with my hands in the bucket and told me what it had been used for. I started to work prayerfully, as we are taught to do in Christian Science, and declared that God was on the field. When I washed my hands, some of the flesh came off.
